MEDITATION IS DIFFICULT
The truth is, it isn’t!
It’s actually quite easy. What makes it appear to be difficult is that most of us do not know where to begin and even if we have tried to meditate, we don’t know how to implement meditation into our fast-paced, demanding modern lives.
A recent study at the University of Illinois has looked further into the experience of tinnitus starting with the brain, looking more closely into how the brain processes emotions in two groups of people – those with tinnitus and those without.

Hearing is a Brain Process
Hearing is a sense, however, understanding what we hear is a brain process. Your ears deliver sound to your brain where meaning is applied through use of cognitive functions like, listening, understanding and memory.
Like our vision, our hearing is constantly changing. However, unlike eye sight, hearing is an easy thing to take for granted and for many, the impact of hearing loss on the brain is often overlooked. If you have a hearing loss, access to your world of sound is compromised and there is less stimulation of the brain. Making sense of speech based communication is difficult and requires more mental effort or ‘brain power’ which often leads to withdrawal from social interaction and an increased risk of mental decline.

Cubex are really excited to be involved in a new and innovative direction of hearing care. HyperSound Clearis a one-of-a-kind personal direct audio solution that generates an ultrasound beam through the air providing a completely immersive, clear and crisp 3-D sound effect, similar to wearing headphones.
With one step a listener can enter or exit a zone of fully intelligible sound, experiencing a difference in aural perception as abrupt as if they’d flipped on a power switch. HyperSound® speakers project a sound beam to a precisely targeted location, creating a private listening zone in any room.
The audio technology, originally meant for enhancing the virtual reality experience for gamers has now developed into a technology that can benefit people with hearing loss too. We have tried this immersive experience for ourselves and would love to hear what you think of it after experiencing it in our offices. Find out more below.

We are excited to be working with leading London based yoga teacher, Henrietta Greene, who will guide our #T4Tinnitus ‘Brain Power’ Yoga Workshop on Friday, 12th February 2016.
Henrietta’s yogic journey began at the age of ten, since when she has practised many different styles that now influence her teachings, including: hatha, ashtanga, yin, kundalini, vinyasa and Broga® . In addition to sharing her insights on breathing mindfully for managing tinnitus related stress, Henrietta also looks forward to discussing more generally the benefits of yoga for those with tinnitus and hearing loss, and how it can equip the individual with the means to cope with and manage their situation.
Most people with severe-to-profound hearing loss use the same hearing aids for many years. Hearing aids become your everyday companions, so it’s easy to understand why. But technology advances quickly and it is worthwhile keeping up with these changes: they can offer new benefits and major improvements to your hearing.
So why not take the leap and try new Oticon Dynamo? With Oticon’s BrainHearing™ technology, we can help ease your transition to a new and richer sound experience.
At Cubex, we believe that listening is where hearing meets the brain.
You individual abilities is a key predictor of how well you would do with hearing aids. To help you to improve your listening ability, enhance communication and ensure success with hearing technology; we encourage brain training.
We would like to invite 10 of you to keep your brain active and healthy and help us contribute to The Human Cognition Project by participating in Lumosity’s Clinical Access Research & Engagement Program (CARE).
