Here at Cubex, we are deeply committed to prioritising the health and well-being of our patients, our valued team, professional colleagues and the community in general. Nothing is more important than your health, safety and well-being, and the need to protect those most vulnerable to the Coronavirus.
We are aware that some of you are very reliant on your hearing technology and require ongoing support. Depending on the type of consultation, we are making some of our in-clinic consults available via Telephone, FaceTime or Skype video conference.
If you need support with your hearing health, hearing treatment technology, tinnitus, cognitive training or CALM programme and would prefer to carry out your consultation virtually, please contact us. We will consider your needs and confirm if it is possible to conduct a virtual remote session with a Cubex Audiologist.
Telephone Consultations – by appointment only
We recommend using this service in instances where:
- you need general hearing health advice
- you need advice on hearing treatment technology
- you need help with troubleshooting connectivity issues between Bluetooth devices and your current hearing instruments
- you need help troubleshooting you hearing instrument when they appear not to be performing effectively
- you need guidance or a refresher on lifestyle techniques, and mindfulness-based strategies learned during the CALM programme
- you are concerned that your hearing may have changed
- you may be more aware of your tinnitus which is causing distress
You may book a telephone, Skype or FaceTime consultation via our patient relations team on 0207 935 5511 or drop us a message here.
The duration of each slot is 30 minutes. If you are within a treatment plan, there is no fee. However, if your treatment plan period has expired, the consultancy is £60.
Personalising and Optimising Hearing Technology
Please note, certain hearing technologies may be appropriate for remote virtual personalisation and optimisation. If you are thinking about moving forward with a treatment plan that includes new hearing technology, specific components of the treatment plan may be carried out virtually. However, this will be on a case by case basis, and it is best to discuss this directly with your Clinical Audiologist.
Repairs, Servicing & Sterilisation of Personal Hearing Instruments
As an alternative to visiting us in person, you may prefer to take advantage of our Hearing Lab service. You may use this service to sterilise and service your hearing technology and to complete any repairs that may be required.
You do not have to be present for us to sterilise and service your hearing technology. You may courier or post the devices to us. However, we strongly recommend using a secure delivery service or have a friend or family member deliver them to our clinic. Cubex will not be responsible for any items sent to us that may get lost or damaged in the post. We also cannot recommend insuring your hearing instruments enough. You can learn more about insurance for hearing technology here.
Please contact us before forwarding your hearing technology to Cubex so that we can get a clear picture of the type of damage or servicing required in advance.
We aim to complete most of the repairs in-house within 24 hours. However, depending on the extent of the damage, there may be occasions when your hearing technology requires the attention of an external manufacturer lab in which case, please expect a minimum of 6 to 7 working days before your instrument is ready to be dispatched or collected.
Cognitive Assessments & Training
Our cognition related hearing health tests and cognitive training programmes can be facilitated and coached by a Cubex Audiologist remotely.
Cognitive training programmes can run fully supported and monitored by a Cubex Audiologist for 8-10 weeks. An agreed plan of virtual catch-up and counselling is agreed and scheduled in advance.
Although designed to be a face to face programme, we are delighted to be able to run all 4 pillars of the CALM programme virtually especially during this period of turbulence.
If you have already completed the CLAM programme and require ongoing support, re-learning or simply need to touch base with a CALM specialist, we would be delighted to arrange a virtual consultation for you.
Please get in touch with us for more information on setting up sessions, availability, fees and duration.
Unfortunately we will be stopping all face-to-face consultations for the time being due to the COVID-19 safety measures. Please do get in touch with us if you have any concerns or would like to arrange a virtual consultation.
